NLMFA CHEERLEADING INFORMATION - 2017 SEASON

COMMUNICATION: Email is the main form of parent communication for our coaches.

Please make sure we have accurate email address(es) for all interested adult parties in

charge of your child.

DIVISION OF SQUADS: Final postings will be made to our website and emailed directly to

parents after final signups in July. While we adhere to the CFA guidelines, we may have to

adjust squad placement if the number of children signed up for one particular squad

becomes too large.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: Please see the attached 2017 Cheer Calendar for practice details.

PRACTICE LOCATION: Practice for regular season squads are held at Fireman's Park in Fredericksburg. Please park or drop off your child in the grass field across the driveway from the football fields. DO NOT PULL INTO THE PAVILION AREA! There is some shade from trees where we will be practicing, but sunscreen is

recommended. Bug repellent is also an option you may want to consider.

ATTIRE: Cheerleaders are expected to practice in athletic wear and sneakers. No jewelry is

permitted. Long hair must be tied back. Cheerleaders should bring a LABELED water bottle

to practice – please remember to take it home with you; coaches are not responsible for

personal belongings.

COMPETITION SQUAD: Members of Pee Wee, Pony and Midget squads will be eligible to try out for the Competition Squad in August. The tryouts will be judged by a third party. The

purpose of this squad is to allow cheerleaders to extend and enrich their season experience by participating in local cheerleading competitions, therefore, it is optional. If cheerleaders only wish to cheer for football games, they do not need to try out for this squad. More information will be forthcoming.

UNIFORM ACCESSORIES: NLMFA provides skirts and shells. Parents will be responsible to

purchase the items that are attached on the Uniform Accessories Ordering Instructions

form. If you have items that you wish to re-use from last year (briefs, crop-tops, etc), as

long as they are in good condition, match the rest of your squad & fit properly, you are not

required to buy them again.

COACHES: Coaches’ contact information is posted at the top of your 2017 CHEER

CALENDAR. It is also posted on our website at www.nlmfa.com.
